Drunk Elephant Skincare ‘Let’s B Clear Kit’ review

Hello!

So, after hearing countless amounts of people talk about the Drunk Elephant skincare brand, I recently bit the bullet and picked up a value set of their skincare products from Sephora, and I AM OBSESSED. These items are not cheap, but the more I use these products I understand why they are priced so high, especially as the brand is committed to using non-toxic ingredients – which I (and my skin) love. Carry on reading to find out my thoughts on each of the products in the set…

C-Firma Day Serum:

I am really enjoying using this serum. I have never used a product with vitamin C in before – and I think this is a great product to start with. This serum is nice and light, almost watery in texture, but it feels very nourishing on my skin. It makes my skin look hydrated, but it claims to make skin look brighter and firmer, and whilst I haven’t noticed my skin become firmer (as my skin does not lack firmness anyway), it definitely looks brighter and less dull. I will probably report back on the results of this when I have used it a lot more regularly, but so far I am really liking it.

T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum:

I really like this serum. It is light, but still hydrates my skin, without being too heavy. I feel like it is benefitting my skin when I apply it at night – which I love because I really enjoy products that repair or make your skin look better whilst you sleep. I believe this serum does this, as my skin looks great when I wake up. I do not physically exfoliate my skin that regularly, so I’m really getting into serums that contain acids that do that for me, like Lactic acid or Glycolic acid. I think this serum does the job perfectly, my skin is so smooth lately, and this helps to keep spots at bay. This serum is great, and my sensitive skin has no problems with it. I still have no idea what Framboos means though…

B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel:

Another great product from this set – I am really enjoying this moisturiser. I love the gel texture, its so different from any other moisturiser I have used before. It’s nice because its quite light in texture, but it is very hydrating – it really is like a drink of water for my skin. My skin is soft and plumped up after using this, and glowing all over. At the moment as it is not too cold outside I like to build up light layers of hydrating products, instead of one really rich cream, and I feel like this is a great final step. This set is also good because the intensive hydration gel is full sized, whilst the other products are significantly smaller. The information says this can be used alone or mixed with other products, and so far I am loving it on its own, but I will try and mix it with other things in the future – just to try it out.

Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil:

This facial oil definitely is luxury – it’s the best facial oil I’ve ever used! Usually when I use something that claims to be both a night time product and super hydrating, I wake up and my skin doesn’t look or feel any different – but I have really been getting results from this. I have been applying the facial oil after I’ve been using the Glycolic Night Serum (as recommended), and when I wake up my skin is SO soft and hydrated, I still can’t get over it. I’ve never used a facial oil that’s worked this well before, and I also love it doesn’t transfer or stick to my pillow when I sleep, because I hate it when skincare does that. It really does absorb well, and I love how glowing my skin looks when I use this. I can’t recommend it enough.

Pekee Bar:

This little bar of soap is the only thing from the set that I don’t fully love. I just think that this doesn’t compare to everything else – when I wash my face with it, it is nothing special. It gives my face a nice clean, but I wasn’t wowed by this product. Perhaps I need to keep using it more, to see if it does make a difference on my skin. So far, it is the only product out of the set I won’t repurchase.

I’ve included a picture featuring all of the ingredients and claims of the products used in the set below, just in case anyone reading this has allergies or wants to check for certain ingredients.

Overall, I’m really glad I jumped on the Drunk Elephant bandwagon, and picked up this value set to test out their most popular products. I’m going to be gutted when these samples run out, but I’ll definitely be picking up the majority of this range again and picking up the full size versions – and trying a few other things like their Babyfacial, and the Lala Retro Whipped Cream. I do feel like these products have improved my skin, and continue to keep it clear, hydrated and glowing, and I especially love the Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil. The only downside to Drunk Elephant skincare is that it isn’t available in the UK, and so if you want it you have to order it from Sephora or their own website (and pay customs charges). I hope this changes soon, and they bring the company to the UK, as I know the amount of people over here who love this brand is growing rapidly.
